Love Lockdown: The Deliciously Swanky Edition

"She's Royal"---Tarrus Riley (LimeLinx)
"She's Royal"---Tarrus Riley (YSI)

Big choon inna da dance! Maximum reload rasta! I got back into my lovers rock/reggae zone when this sweet tune dropped back in '06. The song gives you the best of both worlds, consciousness and love. Even bad man hold him gyal and him corner when this one come on.

"Ribbon In The Sky"---Stevie Wonder (LimeLinx)
"Ribbon In The Sky"---Stevie Wonder (YSI)

This is such a beautiful love song and I listen to it as I type. Stevie is such a soulful songwriter and his lyrics are so heartfelt. I remember hearing the cover version by the group Intro and thinking "good cover but nope". Nobody does it like the man.

"Selfish"---Slum Village (LimeLinx)
"Selfish"---Slum Village (YSI)

Don't even get techinical ! This is a love song! Boy what a hookup with Kanye and John Legend. And what a killa sung hook, stayed in my head like forever. I remember calling up a lady friend to say I was running late and singing this to her as she answered. Extremely random and a dude got extremely loved up as a result. Yup even the players gets luv. Selfish.

"Feel Like Makin' Love"---Marlena Shaw (LimeLinx)
"Feel Like Makin' Love"---Marlena Shaw (YSI)

Rare groove. A subgenre of soul I call baby making muzak. Back in the day (before the kids) I used to take my wife out to the rare groove dances. We'd hold each other close all night dancing to the likes of Marlena, LTD, Aretha, whatever. You didn't reach unless you had your woman, no wall huggers allowed.

"I Need Love"---Robin Thicke (LimeLinx)
"I Need Love"---Robin Thicke (YSI)

Selected cos Rob really croons for this one. Any guy who tells a woman he can do better than make love to her ... ahh man thats heavy. Feeling it big time.

Nice one Chrome, I very nearly selected that Marlena track, especially as she sang it so sweetly when I caught her at Ronnie Scott's a couple of weeks back.

The London bus debate/panic over the great unknown is hilarious. It's very simple, you either believe in a cult or you do not. We only know of evolution and various other theories as to how this thing called life first started on our wee planet, I for one choose not to believe in a great designer, others do, I chooses not to believe in santa claus or the tooth fairy, others do etc etc.
The fact that some religious bodies are getting all hot n bothered and posting their own ads says more about their own doubts and fears, aswell as their drive to recruit new followers, something I don't think the Humanist association was overly concerned with. Also interesting how the tone of the 'response' ads from the religious groups and of course the funding of them differs greatly from the original BHA ad.
