I remember there was a lot of talk about this on rec.music.hip-hop a couple of years ago, and the consensus at the time was that there was never any official Pete Rock remix. Though if anyone has that import ep I'd love to hear some tracks off of it!

This is the closest I could find to a definitive list of Black Album remixes --> http://www.geocities.com/remixalbums/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13714247.post-1161387918062676282006-10-20T19:45:00.000-04:002006-10-20T19:45:00.000-04:00I was anonymous, must have been half asleep when I...I was anonymous, must have been half asleep when I posted thatTravishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16231982525234733675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13714247.post-1161298447824044972006-10-19T18:54:00.000-04:002006-10-19T18:54:00.000-04:00I think I finally figured this out. The other version seems to be the real deal, but it's an import EP.

Either way, Pete's music sounds nice with Hov's vocals.

JT---the props never get tiresome...believe me. If it weren't for a handful of people like you who keep me inspired, this whole thing would seem pointless.Scholarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05029862318403717683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13714247.post-1161266053655479702006-10-19T09:54:00.000-04:002006-10-19T09:54:00.000-04:00From what I've heard, Quo was the dude who meshed ...From what I've heard, Quo was the dude who meshed to two together (the Petstrumentals or whatever those are & the Jay acapellas).

Yeah, I think alot of those Jay Remixes are mash ups (The RJD2's, the Jaymosphere, ect...). The Paul Nice one (which I think was offical, new stuff) was very good and no one really mentions it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13714247.post-1161233981222647592006-10-19T00:59:00.000-04:002006-10-19T00:59:00.000-04:00Man, anyone who is not down with Pete Rock is a se...Man, anyone who is not down with Pete Rock is a serious dum-dum. Have just about everything he's done, and he's absolutely near the top of the heap. Love 9th Wonder too, but PR is the bee's knees. Great selections, yet again, although you must be weary of hearing me say that! ;)Jim Hendryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15444416343340712432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13714247.post-1161217859985325002006-10-18T20:30:00.000-04:002006-10-18T20:30:00.000-04:00Travis + Ziti---I have to admit this is a little c...Travis + Ziti---

I have to admit this is a little confusing. I'm beginning to question the authenticity myself. Some sites that sell this CD have the producer listed as Quo---others, like Access Hip Hop(http://www.accesshiphop.com/store/?itemid=7334) have Pete listed as the producer.

If anyone knows for sure, drop some knowledge. Some guy on eBay is selling his copy as a CD rarity.

Almost all of the remixes I have (and there are hundreds) are just random mp3s I picked up along the way. I was under the impression that the Silver Album RJD2 remixes were phony, but I thought Pete and 9th Wonder's mixes were official. If not, I definitely stand corrected.Scholarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05029862318403717683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13714247.post-1161185680430495112006-10-18T11:34:00.000-04:002006-10-18T11:34:00.000-04:00So is this a different version than the one that s...So is this a different version than the one that showed up on that Pete Rock Black album mash up? He blended the lyrics with a lot of tracks he had already recorded, but it wasn't one of those projects that came out without the producer's knowledge or consent. I doubt that this is an official Pete Rock remix.

The Petestrumentals album is excellent, by the way.. peace and keep up your blog, I check it often. thanxAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
