Before You Lock My Love Away

I have an unproven theory that David Banner suffers from Irritable Bowel Syndrome. There's no other conceivable explanation for some of the facial expressions he makes while being photographed...

Anyway, I have to admit that some of the hip-hop that's come out of the South in recent years has struck me as faceless and generic. As usual, the industry has latched onto a hot commodity and exploited the hell out of it. Hell no, rap music isn't dead...it's just being severely oppressed. There are a host of artists now who represent the southern demographic, but the quantity has all but eradicated the quality. Mediocre. Formulaic. Uninspired. I have complete respect for any commercial artist who is able to maintain their artistic integrity in the current climate of dollars over sense. While David Banner's songs sometimes fall into the boring and tired category, I've always respected the man for the handful of meaningful tracks that he includes on every release. "Bloody War" w/ BG is one of those tracks---and for a limited time only---you can cop that shit at the Razorblade. Link to your right.

Am I High? (yes I am) is featuring a remix of Common's song "Testify", featuring Darien Brockington: http://amihigh.blogspot.com/.

I think that's all for now. My PC was jacked up for a couple of days, so I haven't had much time to check out what's been happenin'. I finally got things up and running a few hours ago, after being on the phone with HP's technical support for a couple days straight. I will post again soon, but for a week or two, I will probably be around less frequently. I'm in the process of moving, and I have all kinds of hellish shit to do and transitions to make...but I promise to hit you up whenever I can.
